Fishing Guide/Maintenance
As a fly-fishing guide at Crossed Sabres, you get to take our guests fishing on the North Fork of the Shoshone River in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about the surrounding landscapes, enjoy world-class scenery, and help our wonderful guests catch plenty of fish!
Being in charge of our fishing program includes providing fly casting lessons for our guests, and guiding walk/wade fishing trips with easy access to the river. You will be provided with gear from Orvis and nearly endless fishing holes.
When you’re not fishing, helping around the ranch in other aspects is paramount to the success of the ranch. Some of these tasks include landscaping, mowing, simple plumbing and carpentry, keeping the saloon stocked, and general maintenance.
Our fishing guides also have the important task of doubling as Yellowstone Guides. You will be in charge of driving our guests through the park and helping to educate them about the flora and fauna, and the history of our first national park.
We do ask all of our employees to help with general ranch jobs outside of their specific department as needed. Some of these jobs are socializing with guests, helping with BB guns, archery, and hatchet throwing, washing dishes, square dancing, skeet shooting, rodeo transportation, airport shuttles, and anything else needed to ensure the success of the ranch.
Preference will be given to applicants who are available to work the full season from May 25th – September 5th.
Position requirements:
- Minimum age to apply – 20
- Fly-fishing experience, with previous guiding a plus
- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid First Aid/CPR/AED certifications covering time of employment
